We use only Natural gentle methods with the horses. We have invested in Clinton Anderson Training products and use pressure release, work and rest as the foundation of our training. The riding horses are ridden

often around the farm by young and old alike, male and female and travel at the front middle and back. We take several trail rides a year and cross water, bridges, roads and meet numerous dogs, vehicles and other scary things. The young ones are handled daily but alternate training with a week or two of rest to play and be young horses.
Our training philosophy mostly matches that of Lee Ziegler and can be found in her book "Easy Gaited Horses". The main theme is to tailor the training to the growth and maturity of the horse and not by a predetermined schedule. The horses move at a slow easy pace when they are young so that when you are ready to ride they have experienced on the ground much of what you will experience in the saddle.
The horses eat plenty of fresh hay, have their immunizations annually along with regularly scheduled trimmings by the farrier. The vet lives only 1/4 of a mile down the road and is always at our disposal should we ever need her.
A couple of our horses are starting to show in country trail classes and we hope to show in trail obstacle next year. Enjoy our photos below, of horses around the farm and area. If you'd like to learn more about the Rocky Mountain Horse, Kentucky Mountain Horse, or Tennessee Walking Horse, please
